Some news & new piano stuff !

Bonsoir à vous ! Avant de vous présenter les quelques news à propos des choses à venir avec mon petit projet musical, que j'ai à cœur de poursuivre et de voir grandir sous mes doigts, j'aimerais vous faire part de la pièce qui clôture actuellement un EP trois titres dont deux ("Erebus" et "Atlantis") ont été préalablement partagées ici. Cette pièce est à propos d'Atlas, dans la mythologie grecque un des Titans qui a pris part à la guerre que les dieux olympiens ont déclaré et remporté contre eux. C'est ainsi que les Titans ont été précipités par Zeus dans les profondeurs des Enfers, sauf Atlas, condamné à soutenir la voûte céleste pour l'éternité. Il est aussi dit qu'Atlas a été transformé en montagne, le mont Atlas au Maroc, si haut qu'il touche les cieux. Alors à vos casques et laissez-vous porter dans cette histoire !

Before presenting you the some news about the forthcoming things with my little music project, which I've the faith to keep leading and to see growing up under my fingers, I would like to share with you the piece that currently closes up a three-tracks EP whose two ("Erebus" and "Atlantis") have been previously shared here. This song is about Atlas, in the Greek Mythology one of the Titans who took part in the war that the Olympian Gods declared and won against them. This is how the Titans have been precipitated by Zeus in the deep of the Hells, except Atlas, condemned to support the celestial sphere for eternity. It's also said that Atlas was transformed into a mountain, the mount Atlas in Morocco, so high that it touches the skies. So, take your headphones and let you carry away in this story!

Maintenant, voici quelques news relatives à Echoes of the Soul en plus de l'EP évoqué ci-dessus : un prochain (et troisième) album "longue durée" est en cours de composition. Pour celui-là, un titre a déjà été achevé dans une version piano (une autre pour piano et alto est bientôt finie) que je mettrai bientôt sur Youtube et je travaille actuellement sur un second morceau. Il n'est pas exclu que cet album comprenne l'EP dont j'ai parlé au-dessus mais j'ignore encore la forme que tout cela pourrait prendre exactement. Attendons donc de voir comment ce nouveau projet va pouvoir se révéler...

Now, here's some news related to Echoes of the Soul apart from the EP mentioned above: a next (and third) full-length album is in progress. For this one, one song is already done in a solo piano version (another one for piano and viola is finished soon) that I will post on Youtube and I'm currently working on a second piece. It's not excluded that this album integrates the EP which I talked about above but I don't know yet how all that could take shape exactly. So, wait and see...

D'une part, c'est avec un grand plaisir que je partage avec vous ma dernière pièce composée avec plusieurs fonctions instrumentales de mon piano numérique : grand piano, violon orchestral, orgue et clavecin. "Erebus" est une composition très sombre sur le thème de l'enfance perdue, avec sa fougue, ses rêves et sa quiétude, et j'ai voulu le mettre en lien avec l'Erèbe (d'où le titre), cet endroit/fleuve des Enfers situé entre les régions plus profondes de ces derniers et le monde des vivants. L'enfance y vient sommeiller pour se perdre à travers le brouillard, derrière lequel se découvre un monde toujours un peu plus près de celui des adultes, un monde où les soucis naissent et croissent sous le regard d'Hadès... Bonne écoute !

Firstly, it's with a great pleasure that I share with you my last piece composed of several instrumental functions from my digital piano: grand piano, orchestral strings, pipe organ and harpsichord. "Erebus" is a very dark composition on the theme of the lost childhood, with its liveliness, its dreams and its quietude, and I wanted to link it with Erebus, this place/river from the Underworld located between the deeper regions from this latter one and the world of the living. The childhood comes to fall asleep to lost itself through the fog, behind which is discovered a world that's getting closer to the one of adults, a world where the concerns come to be born and grow under the gaze of Hades... New stuff for your summer !

Je ne suis pas venu ici depuis un certain temps et j'ai de nouvelles choses à partager, c'est pourquoi je reviens parmi vous pour vous en faire part. Dans un premier temps, j'ai mis en ligne le 7ème et dernier titre de mon nouvel album (intitulé 'Soulscapes' au passage), une longue pièce de 12 minutes en 3 parties. L'album est donc à présent disponible en téléchargement sur mon Bandcamp et je l'ai mis à prix libre, alors n'hésitez pas en profiter. Enfin, j'ai mis en ligne il y a quelques heures un tout nouveau titre, "Atlantis", qui marque un changement d'orientation musicale avec Echoes of the Soul. Mon projet intègre à présent plusieurs "couches" de piano et des influences de la musique minimaliste (ou répétitive) dont Steve Reich serait un bon exemple. Voilà, je vous fais part de tout ça ci-dessous !

I didn't come here for some time and I have new stuff to share, that's why I come back amongst you to offer them to you. First, I uploaded the 7th and last song of my new album (entitled 'Soulscapes' by the way), a 12 minutes long piece in three parts. The album is thus available now in digital version at my Bandcamp and I put it in "Name your price", so don't hesitate to take the opportunity. Finally, I uploaded in a few hours a very new song, "Atlantis", with which Echoes of the Soul takes a new musical orientation. Now, my project integrates several piano "lays" and influences from minimalist (or repetitive) music whose Steve Reich would be a good example. Well, I share with you all that below!

"Journey to a Forgotten Kingdom", new song !

Voici mon nouveau titre, une seconde pièce au piano pour mon prochain album. Celle-ci porte sur ces âmes qui recherchent leur propre dimension enchantée dans une quête spirituelle depuis le monde physique et jusqu'à un royaume enchanté mais oublié, au-delà du nôtre. Et vous, saurez-vous entrer dans ce grand temple ? Bon voyage !

Here is my new song, a second piano piece for my next album. This one is about these souls which search for their own enchanted dimension by making a spiritual quest from the physical world to a wonderful but forgotten kingdom beyond ours. "In the Maze of Lost Souls", new song !

Bonjour, chers auditeurs. Je reviens ici parmi vous pour vous présenter ma toute nouvelle pièce pour piano. Il s'agit d'un titre assez long sur le thème de la quête, et précisément une quête intérieure entre deux extrémités d'un réseau dans lequel on se perd. Ce réseau, complexe et labyrinthique, est celui de la vie. Nulle âme humaine incarnée dans un corps vivant n'y échappe et ne peut s'y mouvoir sans se déchirer, se fragmenter, se disperser et enfin se perdre. On peut alors un beau jour éprouver le besoin de renouer avec soi, de se retrouver, de s'affranchir de ces maints et maints murs entre lesquels on s'est mis en pièces. Voilà le sens de cette quête intérieure : se libérer de sa propre perte au sein du grand dédale de la vie. C'est l'idée que j'ai voulu développer dans le titre, en retraçant le cheminement mouvementé d'une âme humaine égarée jusqu'à cet espéré salut. Bonne écoute !

Hello, dear listeners. I come back here amongst you to present you my very new piano piece. This is a pretty long track on the theme of quest, and precisely about an inner quest between two extremities of a network in which one get lost. This network, complex and labyrinthine, is the one of life. No human soul incarnate in a living body escapes it and can't move itself into it without cracking, fragmenting, scattering and then getting lost. One can thus feel the need to reconnect with oneself, to find oneself, to escape from these many walls between which one separated into parts. That's the meaning of this inner quest: liberating oneself from our own loss within the great maze of life. This is the idea that I wanted to develop in the song, by tracing the eventful progression of a lost human soul towards this hoped-for salvation. Enjoy it!

Salut à vous ! Je reviens ici pour annoncer quelques nouvelles à propos de mon premier album, 'A Village'. Il sortira en CD digipack en édition limitée (50 exemplaires) à peu près au milieu du mois de juillet. Il y a quelques jours, j'ai envoyé le matériel (données audio et visuels) à un producteur de disques et j'ai hâte de recevoir les CDs ! Dans l'attente, j'ai mis l'album dans sa version CD officielle sur mon Bandcamp. Vous pouvez l'écouter et commander une version digitale (3 euros) si vous n'êtes pas intéressés par le support physique. Merci !

Actuellement, je compose encore une nouvelle pièce pour piano mais je reviens par ici pour partager avec vous une autre composition que j'ai faite il y a quelques jours. Eh oui, comme vous pouvez le voir, je suis très prolifique en cette période, sans doute à cause des beaux jours qui approchent. À propos de la pièce que je partage ici, elle est sur le thème du Voyage mais je vous laisse le soin d'en interpréter le sens en vous indiquant simplement qu'elle raconte un départ.
